Privacy Notice

This notice describes the information Crook County Released Inmates receives, how that information is used, and the limited situations in which it may be shared. It covers searches routed through partner tools, messages sent to us, technical details recorded during a visit, and cookies used by the site or outside services. Visiting or using the site means accepting these practices. Government offices, search partners, analytics providers, and advertising services have their own policies for data handled on their systems.

Information You Submit

Partner Search Requests

A name, place, or other term entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Crook County Released Inmates does not store or log those query terms on its own systems. The partner receives the request and processes it under that provider's privacy terms.

Messages Sent to Us

When you send an email or a message through a contact form, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. A message may include your name, reply address, and any details you choose to provide. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.

Technical Visit Data

Web servers and service providers may record basic technical facts when a page loads. This data supports site operation, traffic measurement, troubleshooting, and protection against misuse. It may include:

  • Your internet protocol address.
  • The browser name and version used for the visit.
  • The device category and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when one is supplied.
  • The date and time attached to each request.

Cookies and Similar Tools

Cookies may help measure how visitors move through the site and may support analytics or advertising functions. You can limit or block cookies through browser controls. If you do, parts of the site or an outside service may work differently, and some saved choices may not persist.

How Data Supports the Site

Collected information is used only for ordinary site and service functions. Those uses include:

  • Keeping pages available, stable, and responsive.
  • Sending a search request to the appropriate partner service.
  • Learning which Crook County release-resource pages visitors find useful.
  • Finding errors, security concerns, and other technical faults.
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect general visitor interests.

Outside Websites and Advertising

Crook County Released Inmates links to Crook County Sheriff and Jail resources, Oregon Department of Corrections services, court and federal portals, and third-party search tools. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not control information collected directly by those outside services.

Advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technology on their own systems. Some may measure activity across different websites to select or assess interest-based ads. Their collection and processing occur under their policies, not this notice.

Limited Data Recipients

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to a small set of service providers or public authorities when necessary for the functions described here:

  • Search partners that receive and handle submitted queries.
  • Analytics services that measure visits and page use.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
  • Law enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

We use ordinary administrative and technical safeguards suited to the information handled by the site. No internet service, data transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that information will never be lost, intercepted, or accessed without permission.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion of information held by us.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the nature of the request, you may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal information held about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete personal information retained by us.
  • Stop or limit certain processing where an opt-out is available.

These choices apply to information controlled by Crook County Released Inmates. A request about data held by a sheriff, court, corrections agency, search partner, analytics service, or ad network must be directed to that organization.

Notice Revisions

This privacy notice may be changed as site practices, services, or legal requirements develop. A revised version will be posted on this page and will show a new effective date. Continued use after publication means the updated notice applies to later visits.
